Alex was raised in Thousand Oaks and has been working with children, adolescents, and families in various capacities in the community for over 14 years. She has experience working with children, teens, adults, couples, and families faced with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, school difficulties, and various life transitions. Alex received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Cal State Channel Islands, a Master’s degree in Social Work from USC, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She enjoys working from a strengths-based perspective, setting goals in collaboration with those she works with, and building awareness and coping skills in order to overcome life’s challenges. Alex’s therapeutic approach is informed by attachment theory and our relationships with ourselves, others, and the world around us. She is also trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Alex is bilingual and can provide therapy in English and Spanish. Along with her private practice, she also works as a family therapist for Engage Treatment Programs and is a Clinical Supervisor. In her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, cooking, and spending quality time with friends, family, and her husband and daughter.
