Alex was raised in Thousand Oaks and has been working with children, adolescents, and families in various capacities in the community for over 14 years. She has experience working with children, teens, adults, and families faced with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, school difficulties, and various life transitions. Alex received a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Cal State Channel Islands, a Masters degree in Social Work from USC, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Prior to joining the Engage Team, Alex worked with children, adolescents, and families in a community-based mental health program providing individual and family therapy and crisis intervention, as well as within the school district providing intensive school-based therapy to K-5th graders. She enjoys working from a strengths-based perspective, setting goals in collaboration with those she works with, and building upon individual strengths in order to overcome life’s challenges. Alex is bilingual and provides individual and family therapy in English and Spanish. Along with her private practice, she also works as a family therapist for Engage Treatment Programs and is a Clinical Supervisor. In her free time, she enjoys learning from others, reading, traveling, and spending quality time with friends, family, and her dog Buddy.
