Alex was raised in Thousand Oaks and has been working with children and adolescents in various capacities in the community for over 10 years. Alex received a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Cal State Channel Islands, a Masters degree in Social Work from USC, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Prior to joining the Engage Team, Alex worked with children, adolescents, and families in a community-based mental health program providing individual and family therapy and crisis intervention, as well as within the school district providing intensive school-based therapy. Alex is passionate about working with children, teens, and adults faced with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and various life transitions. She enjoys working from a strengths-based perspective and in collaboration with clients to assist them in reaching their goals. Alex is bilingual and provides individual and family therapy in English and Spanish. Along with her private practice, she also works as a family therapist and is the Clinical Manager for Engage Treatment Programs, our intensive outpatient program which assists adolescents faced with various social-emotional concerns. In her free time, she enjoys learning from others, reading, traveling, and spending quality time with friends, family, and her dog Buddy.
