Melanie is an MFT intern earning her hours toward licensure under the clinical supervision of our Clinical Director Robert Scholz. Melanie received a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and a Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Santa Barbara. Prior to joining Engage, she worked as an individual and group therapist at Interface Children & Family Services in Camarillo and Thousand Oaks. Melanie has worked with children, teens, individuals, and families dealing with issues of trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and life transitions. Melanie’s work is guided by the belief that every client has the capacity and internal strength to change and grow. Her role as a therapist is to be a partner as well as a guide in her clients’ journeys while working in a straightforward, open, and honest way to empower and support them in their own unique process of healing. In her free time, Melanie enjoys spending time with her husband, two daughters, and their beagle, Lucy.
