Tamika has been providing therapeutic support for children, teens, and their families in Ventura County for the last ten years. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State Northridge and her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University in Santa Barbara. Prior to joining the Engage Team, she spent time working with women struggling with substance abuse in an inpatient treatment program and is familiar with the challenges of recovery. She also worked with children and teens in a residential treatment program where she further developed her level of empathy, compassion, and knowledge of effectiveness of evidenced based treatment with children and teens struggling with severe depression, anxiety, and oppositional behaviors. Tamika has also worked as a clinician with the children’s mobile crisis team in Ventura County providing emergency mental health assessments for children and teens during one of the most difficult times in their life. Tamika supported each client in creating a safety plan or identifying a safe harbor for treatment. Her warm, but direct approach, supports her clients in feeling comfortable but also confident in the quality of care they are receiving with her. In her free time, Tamika enjoys spending time with her husband and son and enjoys brunch with good friends.
