Event comes with Lunch.\n\nLocation:\nCasa Pacifica Centers for Children & Families \n1722 South Lewis Road Camarillo\, CA 93012 \nDate and Time:\nFriday\, February 23 · 8am – 1:30pm PST \nNavigating Complex Realities: Violence & Trauma Within the Child\, Family and Community” (4 CEUs provided)\nThis four-part presentation will address violence risk assessment; the impact of caring for those impacted by traumatic events; identifying genetic expressions of aggression and violence; and how to recognize behavioral/emotional predictors for children at risk from adverse childhood experiences. \nParticipants have the opportunity to earn 4 Continuing Education Units. \n“Navigating Complex Realities” is sponsored by the Tri-County Collaborative\, a full continuum of care serving the behavioral health needs of children\, adolescents and families in Ventura\, Santa Barbara and Los Angeles Counties. The Tri-County Collaborative is comprised of Casa Pacifica\, Hazeldon Betty Ford Foundation\, Engage and Mission Harbor Behavioral Health. \nPresenters: \nRobert Scholz\, LMFT\, LPCC\nPathways to Violence: A Blueprint for Prevention\, Assessment and Intervention (1 CEU) \nComing out of the Fog: How to Mitigate the Costs of Caring and Increase Personal Resilience (1 CEU) \nRobert has served in numerous clinical and leadership roles over his twenty-plus years working in university\, community mental health agencies\, forensic psychology and private practice settings. His company\, The Change Place\, offers therapy\, executive coaching and consulting services to a diverse group of clients. He previously served as Adjunct Professor of Psychology at Pepperdine’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology. \nMelissa Flannigan\, Psy.D.\nIntergenerational Trauma and Risk Potential (1 CEU) \nMelissa serves as Clinical Director of Mission Harbor Behavioral Health\, where she oversees the delivery of clinical services for individuals both in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara counties. Her experience includes two decades of specialization in an interdisciplinary approach working in a wide arena of settings\, ultimately focusing her attention to treating trauma. \nHelene Photias\, MHA\nA Child’s World: Healing from Family Addiction (1 CEU) \nHelene is Executive Director\, Children’s Program for the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation. She is an advocate for strengthening the family unit by building understanding and resiliency for each family member. She is a Certified Positive Discipline Parenting Educator and has served as a mentor for the Ophelia Project\, a comprehensive five-year mentoring program that serves 300-400 girls in 8th through 12th grade. \nLunch break will be provided from 11:10 AM to 11:30 AM and is not included in the 4 CEU hours. \nPsychologists| Casa Pacifica Centers for Children & Families is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Casa Pacifica maintains responsibility for this program and its content. \nLMFT\, LCSW\, and LPCC| Casa Pacifica Centers for Children & Families is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for LMFTs\, LCSWs\, and LPCCs (Provider 016190). This course meets the qualifications for hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs\, LCSWs\, and/or LPCCs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.
