Engage, Bridge the Gap Services, Mona Vartanian M.S., and Amanda Flynn AMFT are excited to work together responding to a community need: parents of middle-school aged students struggling to adapt to a virtual learning environment without the structure or consistency of a full schedule outside the home.
This virtual hour-a-day after school group program will combine:
Mondays: executive functioning coaching provided by Bridge the Gap every Monday (calendar management, sleep hygiene, setting measurable goals, prioritizing tasks, self-care routine, troubleshooting and managing zoom overload).
Tuesdays: Mona Vartanian, M.S. brings her decades of experience in education to help children engage in school work, starting with a learning style assessment identifying student’s strengths and weaknesses and customizing their curriculum. Mona will incorporate soft skills (communication skills, conflict resolution, etc) alongside hard skills (computer, typing, etc.) in her curriculum along with academic support in a variety of subjects.
Wednesdays & Thursdays: Amanda Flynn, AMFT’s creativity in constructing of social groups will focus on providing students a place to connect with peers through compassion, humor, sense of identity, inspiration, creativity and expansion. Amanda has years of experience as both a teacher and a therapist, and is adept at organically weaving into groups the tenets of such therapeutic modalities as positive psychology and experiential and creative expression.
The first cohort will be 4-5pm Monday through Thursday and will cost $100 per week ($25/session) or $320 per month ($20/session). Cohorts will be limited to 6-8 students to allow personalized time with each student.
