Engage Treatment Conejo Valley Child Intensive Outpatient Program Information

The focus of our Preteen IOP – for ages 10-12 – is to help children who are struggling with their mental health to feel better about themselves, stronger in their abilities, and supported in all that they do.

This is where children can be emotionally vulnerable. This is where children are given resources, tools, and a team of their own, all dedicated to helping them discover more about themselves and their place in the world around them.

Our groups revolve around process and skill-based therapy techniques. That includes CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and the Oaklander Model of Gestalt Therapy. We incorporate experiential activities, giving children the opportunity to practice and apply their new skills in real-life environments.

One of the most important pieces of our Preteen IOP is the concurrent Reflective Parenting program. In this 90-minute weekly class, parents are empowered to grow along with their children. These weekly classes include discussions and exercises designed to help parents reflect, respond and continue those conversations with their children.
